Blogging is hard work! One thing I strive to do as I write blog posts is to present the truth in all things. Sometimes the truth is hard. The hard truth in this case is that some of my posts have been compensated in some way. You may or may not like that. The truth is I am always honest anyway. If I don’t particularly care for a product, you should be able to tell that when you read my post. In addition to the disclosure I add to the bottom of every post, this page presents a more complete disclosure of all Balanced Blogging practices concerning sponsored material.
I am often provided with free products in exchange for an honest review on my blog. I will never accept a review product where I am required to misrepresent the company or be dishonest. All sponsored reviews will contain a disclosure statement. Sometimes, I review a product just because I love it, and this will also be noted within the blog post.
If you read my blog, you might think I love every product I review, but that is simply not true. I often find myself carefully considering my words in order to be professional and yet honest. If I dislike a product, you will probably see me including lots of objective information about that product and a little about how that product (didn’t) work for one of my websites. What doesn’t work for me may very well work for you, so I try to be honest and not overly negative.
Occasionally, review products come with monetary compensation as well. I spend a great deal of time on using the material, writing, and promoting for each review, so this compensation is fair and equitable compensation for my time. Monetary compensation does not change the way I write reviews. In addition, companies will often ask me to write a sponsored post which differs from a review in that a detailed product review is not a part of the post. As a blogger I may be compensated for the costs of attending conventions. In exchange for a convention presence, blog posts and social media posts a sponsor will pay for my convention expenses. I will only accept sponsorships from companies whose products I believe in. I will not accept sponsorships from companies whose policies are anti-Christian or otherwise in conflict with my worldview as a Christian. All of my blog posts will be honest, and all opinions expressed will be my own. Sponsored posts will not contain affiliate links.
I never use affiliate links for products I have not used or approved myself. I feel very strongly about that. Generally, I receive a small percentage of the total amount of your purchase if you click through one of my affiliate links and make a purchase within a set number of days. Every time you use one of our affiliate links, it is a huge blessing to our family. Thank you for this show of your support!

My sidebar contains several affiliate links within images. I choose all companies with great care before becoming an affiliate. I never, ever recommend using a company whose products I have not used myself. I appreciate your kindness and support of my work.
