I confess. I re-tweet your content. Often. I get so excited when I read something that blesses and inspires me. In fact, if I follow you on Twitter and I haven’t re-tweeted your content you might be wondering why or why not. In any case, if you want to be retweeted more often these reasons for retweeting might help you hone your twitter strategies.
What follows are the top ten reasons I tweet a blog post or re-tweet a twitter post. We are counting down to the best.
#10 – I want to win your giveaway. It’s true, I’m shallow that way. If I really, really want to win your current giveaway I am likely to retweet as often as I can to get more entries.
#9 – We are on the same team. I love to play team style. You blog for one of the review groups I am also a part of and I want to help the team. I try to re-tweet a few posts from team members every day.
#8 – Your have writing credibility. You come up with a catchy lead-in for your content on twitter and it draws me in even if I’m not terribly interested in your content. I see the quality of what you have written, and I am quite sure some of my friends are going to be interested in what you have to say.
#7 – You share a tool. Something tangible to work with. You didn’t just write about organizing your blog, you created pretty printables and shared them for free. That’s cool
#6 – You make me laugh. Everybody needs a good laugh every single day. It’s a fact. Laughter is good medicine!
#5 – We share similar interests. I enjoy reading your posts about one of my own pet topics. I read what you right and solidify my own position or see an angle I’ve never considered before. It fills up my tank and keeps me functioning as a writer.
#4 – You make me smile. You posted a beautiful picture or poem and it is so beautiful I want to share the smiles.
#3 – You teach me something. I read your post, and I learn how to __________.
#2 – You inspire me to be a better person. Something you have written has become a catalyst for change in my life. The change may not have happened yet, but I can feel the stirrings if change deep inside.
#1 – We are passionate about the same topics and your writing speaks well to that passion. If you post something wonderful about #ScriptureMemory or #Creation or one of my other #passions I am almost honor-bound to tweet your post.
